Halie's 1st Christmas

Merry Christmas!!! Most of the time the children wake up before the parents on christmas morning. Not my Halie bug. Brett and I were standing over her crib at 10:00 this morning. We were waiting for her to wake up. We were the kids waiting to open the presents. Halie has always slept in late. Any other time I don't mind, but today I was dying. Finally at 10:30 she woke up. We brought her in to our living room and thought she would open all the presents. We have had presents under our tree for a few days. The whole time they were under there she would not leave them alone. We kept telling her "no no", so I think this morning she was nervous to open any. All she wanted to do was play she wasnt interested in unwraping.
I was very jealous because my parents gave her a little desk that sings and reads stories. She has played with that toy more than any other toy she got. I could not wait to give her this doll house and she has barely played with it.
I forgot to mention that Halie thinks she is invinsible like her dad. They think they can do anything. She stands on toys, boxes anything she can. If she happens to fall over she never even crys. She is so tough.
After about 2 hours of playing with her toys she got tired and fell asleep. Which is very weird, because she never takes naps. She slept for about 2 hours.
After she woke up she was sitting with Brett and I told her to smile and this is what I got.

Finally She played with my doll house. I have waited all day. When I started working on getting dinner ready she started playing with the house. I was so excited! What a cutie!!!
Aunt Jackie and uncle Braden got her a sippie cup. If only you could hear the squeaky noises she makes with it. It has a rubber spout on it and she was rubbing it on her gums. It was hilarious. Once she realized that we were laughing at her, she started laughing.

Candy Candy Candy

Halie thinks she is a big girl, and that she can eat fruit roll ups with Brett and I. I give her little tiny pieces and she wants more and more. I had a piece on my finger and I looked away for a half a second and this is what happend. Halie attached her mouth to my finger. She sucked the roll up off my finger. Then she gets mad when you take it away. She thinks she can eat anything and I mean anything.

Ducks

Halie's new word this week is duck. Everything is duck. This week we took her to one of the many duck ponds we have here in sunny St. George. I think she thought she was in heaven. She kept saying "daddy duck" "papa duck" "duck duck duck". She was having so much fun.

Throwing A Fit Over Nothing

Who knows why she is crying. Halie has learned to that she gets everything she wants. Last week my grandma came to visit. We went to Costco and we made the mistake of going down the toy aisle. My grandma let Halie play with a toy, when we were done with the toy aisle we put the toy back and wow did she throw a fit. I was so mad. She cryed and arched her back, until my grandma said "oh I will buy if for her" as soon as she said that Halie stopped crying. It was turned off as fast as it started. She points at things and that is was she wants, and thats what she is going to get, according to her. What a stinker.

Being Naughty Part 2

Now Halie has figured out how to open the cupboards. I can't keep her out of my tupperware. I have to watch her every sencond or she is into something she should not be in.

Being Naughty

Today I was making lunch and I had left the fridge open because I was going back to get something else. When I turned around I found Halie in it. Playing with the coke. Even though I was happy to see she liked the coke I feel she is a little young to get hooked. I picked up my camera to take a picture I got one without her knowing then she turned around and knew she was in trouble. She knows if she smiles at me it melts my heart and I can't get mad at her. So she smiled with her hand over her mouth, so she wouldnt get in to much trouble. For the last couple weeks it is a race to get anything out of the fridge. Halie attacks when you open it.

Picture Time!!

My brother's girlfriend Brea took these pictures of my family last time we were in Orem. They turned out better than I could ever have imagined. Thank goodness she had the patience to take 8 million pictures.

All I wanted was a picture of our family because we have them with Halie and I or Brett and Halie, but none with all three of us. My goal that weekend was to not leave without one. I think we ended up with some really good ones. Pictures are not the same with a baby they don't just smile like grown ups. Thanks to Brea she got some really good ones and we were even all looking.

Who would have thought Brett loves his little princess!

I loved this picture. Halie with Grandma and Grandpa Sorrells.

Thanks again, Brea, for the sweet pictures!

Eating Time

As you can tell I can't seem to get the food into Halies mouth fast enough. She has always been an eater from day one. A normal feeding consists of 3 jars of baby food and most of the time 6 ounces of formula. Most of the time I feed Halie first then Brett and I eat, but Halie thinks she needs to eat again with us. The only food I have come across so far that I can not get her to eat is bananas. Everything else she loves expecially ice.

Mohawk

Brett has always wanted to give Halie a mohawk, but people already think Halie is a boy way more often than they should. So, while at home in the bath is about the only time she gets to have a mohawk.

Sami Projects

Brett loves Suzuki Samurai's. It seems we always have one project or another with cars. This is the project of this month, as you can tell it is a beauty. Brett is always looking for cheap UGLY cars or sami's to buy and fix up. His intentions are to lift it (thats what he is doing in the picture), and but some different body parts on it and sell it. My guess is when it all done he will want to keep it and wheel it, but I am going to put my foot down on that.

Wii Remotes

We have a nintendo Wii and for some reason Halie loves to play with the remotes. Anytime we we put her on the couch she practically runs over to where we keep the remotes so she can play with them. She puts the cords around the back of her neck, and plays. She also sits in her bouncer except the bouncer is flipped upside down. She sits and plays like this for a least an hour, and keeps herself totally happy.

Bath Time

I think the only time of the day that Halie will cry is when I take her out of the bath. She is a fish. She has loved the water from the start. She wont cry in the bath. It is when she sees me get the towel. That is when it all starts. It is the same thing when we go to the pool. She sees the towel and its all over.

Taking A Nap

Since Halie was born she has not taken naps, maybe 2 cat naps of 20 minutes each, never a full 2 hour naps like most kids her age. Everyday I put her in her favorite toy we own, the Johnny Jumper. This toy has saved my life. This is how I keep her in one spot long enough to get a shower in everyday. Today she was jumping, laughing, and playing when all of the sudden it got very quiet. Halie is never quiet so I knew something was going on. I walked down the hallway to where she was and this is what I saw.
